I read an article today about a pastor that was fired because he said theres not a hell. Or I guess I should say he agreed with a book thats out now that has that point of view. What really caught my attention was when he said he had a hard time believing that people who didn't even know about Jesus could be in hell. Or basically how God could send "GOOD" people to hell forever.
Seriously? A pastor came to this conclusion ? What the crap. I consider myself pretty much ignorant on this subject but even I know I read that people that are "ignorant" about Jesus will be saved. Thats why all children are saved. How is it possible for a pastor to come to this conclusion?
Heres my theory.....The article said he was going to move somewhere and "maybe" start a satellite church. To me thats code for...tell people what they want to hear so you can have a huge following of people to follow your sorry ass straight to hell. What the crap dude, you've read the Bible. Come on, theres only one way. And it's thru the cross. And if not then you're going to hell.

AT HIS BEST
The sermon Sunday was one of those wow ones. It was on Mark 4:35-41. Its's the story of Jesus in the boat with the desciples during a killer storm. I read it the week leading up to Sunday and found myself saying, "ok I can't wait to see how he's going to turn this into a 45 minute sermon." Even I seemed to get it. Ok Jesus is with us during rough times and He will help you out.
Boy did I miss this one. I'm pretty sure the pastor could still be talking about this if he wanted to. Yes Jesus is with us during rough times. And yes we should be praying and asking for help. But our prayers being answered is not the "prize". The "prize" is Jesus himself. And again it was way better Sunday.

FATHER GOD
A pastor a while ago said he was watching his daughter sharing something with a friend. He then went on to say how our Father, God, is watching over us and saying, come on kids share your stuff. And again it sounded way better than this but I think you get the jist. I now find myself thinking of this every time I have to tell my grandaughters something. "How many times do I have to tell you not to......." Well it's probably way less than the times He has had to tell me not to do something.
Here are a few I wonder how many times God has said them to me.....Why don't you listen to me......Don't argue with me........It's for your own good......Because I said so......Because I love you......I know whats best for you
I've actually started laughing at myself after correcting one of my grandaughters. It's so easy to feel like a total hypocrite. I can't wait for the day that one of them calls me on this. Well maybe I can but it will be awesome.

UNFORGIVABLE SIN
I saw on face book--What is the unforgivable sin?----here is what I thought. Wait what? There's an unforgivable sin? What happened to..died on the cross so ALL our sins can be forgiven? What the crap, if there is one shouldn't I have heard about this before now? It seriously freaked me out. I'm on the internet at lunch time reading John Pipers take on it. Of coarse that wasn't enough time. So after work I have my Bible out, I'm on the internet.
Mark3:29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.
So after my Bible/internet study I would write it like this.....But whoever blasphemes against the Holy spirit, AND DOESN'T ASK TO BE FORGIVEN, will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.

BOOK OF JUDAS
Well I looked around on the internet about the gospel of Judas. Here is what I came up with.
1-National Geographic is not a Christian organization
This is not a surprise but it explains a lot about how it was presented
2-The book does really exist
But the protocal for dealing with a found document was not used by National Geographic
3- It's not in the Bible because what it says is not what Christians believe
NG made a big deal of this, like there was some kind of conpiracy by the early church.
4-Things may not be as they seem
When other experts looked into this they think NG took plenty of liberties with translating and even just leaving stuff out
5- National Geographic sucks! Just kidding. I'm glad I looked into this. Not that it was eye opening but because it was a good way to spend some time. There is a book on the subject I might get and read. What's up with all the reading I'm doing?

NETFLIX---REALLY ?
We discovered the world of Netflix this past month. Only because I'm too cheap to pay for cable or a dish. I was going thru the shows and I came across a documentary called the gospel of Judas. It caught my eye because I never heard of it. So I watched it. I never thought netflix would lead me to, what I'm calling, an internet search for some answers.
I'm kind of leaning towards, theres a reason I never heard of it. And it seems there may have been a bunch of Gospels. One thing that was said early on in the show was---If not for Judas betraying Jesus, the crucifixion may never have happened. So I could tell allready the people doing the show could not believe Jesus knew everything going down.
They also talked about gnosticism. And they said gnostics believed that Jesus' death was a good thing. Well I'm not gnostic but I think Jesus' death was a good thing. Sure it sucked for Him, but the big picture says it's a good thing for us. It's way better that He rose from death but still.
I guess I found it interesting enough to look into. Not that my opinion will change but just to learn some stuff.

ABRAHAM-----ISAAC
There are plenty of stories in the Bible that are unbelievable. I don't mean I really don't believe them. More like I have a hard time.....I don't know how to put it. The story of Abraham and his only son Isaac has to be right at the top of the list. Abraham is old as dirt when they finally have a child. Then God tells him to kill his son. Sure it's called an offering but none the less, the boy is going to die. And he never even tries to bargain his way out of it. It's just....You want me to kill my son? Ok when? Tomorrow? OK. And not only kill him, but cut and pack wood for the alter and the fire.
And what the heck is Isaac thinking. Cool dad and I are going on a trip together. Oh we're going to do an offering to God ? Cool, ya wake me up early dad. How long was it till he figured out that he was going to be the lamb ? Ummm dad, didn't you forget something ? And even he doesn't try to bargain his way out. I'm overweight but I'm pretty sure I can out run my dad.
Well I guess it's not that I don't believe. It's that I don't have enough faith to be able to do something like that. I can't even do some of the little things He's been asking me to do.
GOD BLESS
